Wareham Shark Attack Victim Released From North Carolina Hospital
WAREHAM (CBS) - The Wareham man attacked by a shark off the coast of North Carolina has returned home.
Andrew Costello released a statement Monday afternoon thanking his friends and family and hospital staff.
He was discharged from Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC on Saturday.
"While I'm glad to be home, I remain focused on my long road of recovery," Costello said. "I want to thank my family, friends and staff at Vidant Medical Center for their love, support and excellent care that I received."
Costello, a former editor with the Boston Herald, spent more than two weeks in the hospital after he was bit in waist-deep water off North Carolina's Outer Banks on July 1.
