Walsh To Announce Gun Buy-Back Program
BOSTON (CBS) --- Boston Mayor Marty Walsh will announce a gun buy-back program Monday, aimed at getting weapons off the city's streets.
People bringing a gun to a collection center will get a $200 gift card.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Kim Tunnicliffe reports
Walsh says it's just one piece of an overall plan to make the city safer.
"We're going to be launching the sites where the drop-offs will be, we're working on the program and how we're going to be able to do the buy back itself," Walsh said. "We're starting with $100,000 in the bank."
The program is funded from private donations.
