WAKEFIELD - An apparent case of road rage ended in a wild crash in Wakefield, Massachusetts Wednesday. The collision was recorded on doorbell video outside the home of Victor "The Good Boss" Oliveira.

Police say it started on Route 128 with two drivers in some kind of dispute before it came to a head off the highway on Salem Street, right outside Oliveira's house.

His doorbell camera recorded the crash as a white SUV and black sedan collided. The SUV slammed into the fence across the street and the car sped off.

Oliveria, known in the Boston area for helping people break the cycle of homelessness and addition, is seen on the video running out of his house after the crash.

"I've lived here for seven years. There's never been a crash like that," Oliveira told WBZ-TV Thursday. "Honestly, it was just adrenaline, I ran outside. I had no reaction other than, 'Is everyone okay?'"

"It's not worth running"

Oliveira jumped in his wife's car and followed the sedan.

"I don't know what got into me, but I went after him, I wanted to make sure that he wasn't a bad person on the run for something stupid," he told WBZ. Oliveira said the driver left skid tracks in a business parking lot, then ditched the car and ran away. Oliveira went after him.

"We're jumping fences, hitting metal poles," he said. "As I'm running on the phone with the cops, I just basically told him, 'It's not worth running. If you have nothing on you just stay put.' Eventually, he stopped. It turned out he was a nice kid and he was just scared and nervous,"

Drivers summonsed

He stayed with the driver until police came. No one was hurt. Both drivers were summonsed for operating a vehicle to endanger. Homeowners said it was a blessing their children weren't in the backyard at the time of the crash.

"Just think before you act," Oliveira said. "I know we always just act right away when something happens, but just try and take a minute and just think about the consequences because that could have been someone's life."
