Van Carrying Puppies, Kittens Overturns On New Hampshire Highway
PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (CBS) - -A van carrying dozens of cats and dogs overturned on Interstate 95 in New Hampshire Thursday afternoon.
Police said the animal transport unit had more than 40 cats, dogs, puppies and kittens inside. . . "all wanting out."
The driver sustained only minor injuries. All of the animals survived, police said.
"As you can see by the photos, it was quite a chaotic mess," Portsmouth police said. "The [animal control officer] and the officers were able to get each animal out of the truck successfully and supplied them much needed water and tended to their minor wounds."
