U.S. Women's Hockey Team Gets Olympic Sendoff In Bedford

BEDFORD (CBS) - It was a gold medal hopeful sendoff in Bedford on Saturday as the Team USA Women's Olympic Hockey team departed for Russia to compete in the Sochi Winter Olympic Games. And while the energy is high in Bedford, tensions are extremely high in Sochi as Russian security officials are doing all they can to make sure all the athletes and spectators are safe.

For Massachusetts players Meghan Duggan and Kacey Bellamy, this is their second Olympics and they are not too concerned about security. "We are just focusing on what we can control. Obviously we know that things are going on with security but the IOC and USA Hockey has done an incredible job telling us we are going to be safe," Duggan from Danvers said.

"Obviously in the Olympics you're playing for something bigger than yourself and playing for your country. It's amazing experience but we just don't want to it to get to our heads to much," Bellamy from Westfield said.
