Twitter To Live Stream Thursday Night Football
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS) – The NFL is coming to your Twitter feed in a whole new way this fall.
The social media network has landed a deal to live stream the 10 Thursday Night Football games, Commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed Tuesday morning, in his first tweet since Sept. 2014.
"Twitter is where live events unfold and is the right partner for the NFL as we take the latest step in serving fans around the world live NFL football", Goodell said in a statement.
CBS and NBC already have the rights to air Thursday Night Football on TV.
Twitter reportedly beat out competitors Verizon, Yahoo and Amazon to show the games online. Facebook had also shown interest in streaming football before dropping out of the bidding.
