WBZ Traffic Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing In Woburn

WOBURN (CBS) -- A traffic helicopter used by WBZ NewsRadio 1030 and WBZ-TV made an emergency landing in Woburn Tuesday morning due to a mechanical problem, officials said.

Massachusetts State Police said the Total Traffic chopper pilot reported engine trouble while flying over Route 128, and decided to land in a parking lot at Tower Office Park.

There were no injuries and the helicopter was not damaged. The helicopter was repaired and flew back to Beverly Airport.

Police are investigating the incident.

The helicopter is contracted by WBZ NewsRadio 1030, and is used by WBZ-TV and other media outlets.
