Tornado Warning Issued For Parts Of Mass.

BOSTON (CBS) - A tornado warning was issued for several Boston area towns and expired at 6:15 p.m.

The warning covered Medford, Arlington, Somerville, Malden, Revere, Boston, Everett, Chelsea, Stoneham, Winthrop, Winchester, Melrose and Saugus.

A trained weather spotter confirmed a funnel cloud in Lynn. However, there have been no confirmed tornado touchdowns.

At the Concord Country Club, a possible microburst struck the area and downed several trees as lightning and rain poured down.

"The damage here is pretty extensive," WBZ-TV's Kate Merrill said.

An hour earlier, a tornado warning was been issued for parts of Middlesex and Worcester Counties.

The warning ended at 5:30 p.m. and was issued shortly before 4:50 p.m. as a storm moved through the area.

Winds are expected to reach up to 60 mph, according to Glenn Field of SKYWARN.

There have been no confirmed reports of a tornado touching down.
