Tom Brady's Dad Hopes Patriots Score 60 Points Versus Colts
BOSTON (CBS) – Tom Brady never indicated publicly if he's hoping to rack up points against the franchise that got the ball rolling on DeflateGate. The same can't be said, however, for his father.
In advance of Sunday night's showdown between the Indianapolis Colts and the unbeaten Patriots, Tom Brady Sr. told the New York Daily News that while the main thing he hopes for is a New England win, he's hoping for a bit more.
"That being said, I'd like to see them put 60 points on the board, and love to see Tom throw for 500 yards and eight touchdowns. That's me dreaming. That kind of comes from me," Brady Sr. told the newspaper.
Brady Sr. was quick to point out that his desire for a blowout does not come from any "inside information" that the team plans on running up the score.
While the Patriots quarterback been calculated in his public comments during his career, his father is no stranger to speaking out.
After Brady's 4-game DeflateGate suspension was overturned, Brady Sr. angrily called into a California radio station and called NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell a "flaming liar."
The Patriots and Colts meet Sunday night for the first time since the AFC Championship Game, which New England won 45-7 to advance to the Super Bowl.
