Three Convenience Stores Hit, ATMs Stolen

BROCKTON (CBS) - Three Brockton convenience stores were robbed Thursday night, but the alleged thieves didn't steal money. They took the ATMs.

The suspects first hit the 7-11 on Pleasant Street at about 1 am. Their next stop was a 7-11 on Belmont Street. The third target was a Mobil Mart.

The thieves entered the stores by the back door and cut the bolts off of the ATMs.

They unhooked the cables and lifted the machines, some weighing as much as 400 pounds, into the back of a pickup truck.

Police found the machines and the safe from one of the 7-11s in the back of a pickup truck behind a Price Rite Store in Brockton.

The alleged thieves are still at large and the investigation is continuing.
