The Golf Club: Workout And Warmup Tips For The Average Golfer
BOSTON (CBS) -- Do you warm up when you hit the golf club, or do you just tee it up and let it rip?
If you're doing the latter, you're doing it wrong.
Fortunately, strength and conditioning coach Kaitlyn Sharpless is here to help. She joined Hardy on this week's edition of The Golf Club, and she explained why warming up is so crucial to the preparation for a round of golf.
"We don't have to get crazy with the warmups, however I just want the people that are listening and particularly the people that I'm currently working with that are giving me a hard time about looking weird before the round -- I think we really just have to let those feelings go," she said. "Don't get emotional about it. We are athletes and we need to treat our bodies like so.
"When you warm up, you increase your core temperature. So if you want to start activating muscles, or let's say you want to go squat. You kind of hear the controversy that you can't stretch a cold muscle. Well, you need all those nutrients that are in your body to be flowing around the joints so that it prevents injury."

Hardy was also joined by a favorite of the program, Steve Conley, who is the sales director at Callaway. Steve discussed the XR irons, which feature Face Cup technology and helped make them the top irons in golf. He also discussed the XR OS and the Apex irons, as well as news of a 50 percent trade-in bonus on irons, where Callaway is willing to pay 150% of the trade-in value of your irons for you to put toward a new set of Face Cup irons.
