Taylor Swift concert train tickets to Gillette Stadium sold out fast, MBTA says

MBTA considering adding more train service to Gillette Stadium for Taylor Swift concert

BOSTON — Commuter rail train tickets to Taylor Swift's concerts at Gillette Stadium later this month sold out Friday about as fast as the tickets to the shows.

Tickets for trains to the stadium for all three shows on May 19, 20 and 21 were gone within hours after they went on sale Friday morning. That left many fans scrambling to figure out how they're getting to the shows.

Tickets sold out online around 8 a.m. but some fans weren't ready for it, so they had to run to stations to try and snag a ticket, but those were gone by 1 p.m.

"I literally like dropped my breakfast, and I like sprinted over there to the Back Bay station and then he was like 'oh we're sold out,"' Kristin Zheng said.

Gillette is notorious for traffic jams, plus, prepaid parking is already sold out for Taylor Swift. That's why fans like Emma Jones hopped on a last-minute train into North Station to grab a ticket,10 minutes before they sold out.

"I felt pretty lucky, kind of like golden ticket Willy Wonka vibes," Jones said.

Some fans on Twitter asked the MBTA to add more trains or release more tickets. In a statement Friday evening, the MBTA and Keolis said they are determining if that is possible.

"Due to the high level of interest in this service, the MBTA and Keolis are assessing if it is possible to release additional tickets," a spokesperson for Keolis said. "Information will be announced as soon as it is available, follow @MBTA_CR on twitter for the most up to date information."

The MBTA announced its commuter rail concert services in March, with trains going to Gillette Stadium for shows throughout the summer from Boston and Providence.
