Man Stabbed Multiple Times During Carjacking At Taunton Gas Station
TAUNTON (CBS) – Police arrested a Bridgewater resident after they say he stabbed another man during a fight outside a Taunton gas station and drove off with his car.
Ryan O'Day, 29, is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, carjacking, and assault and battery. He pleaded not guilty but was held without bail.
It happened around 10 p.m. on Sunday at Sunoco Gas Station on Broadway.
"The man who had been stabbed said to the police, 'that's the guy who stole my car, he did it,'" a prosecutor said at O'Day's arraignment Monday. "When the police came they saw that this defendant had an empty knife holder on him and also blood on his hands."
A 53-year-old Taunton man suffered non-life threatening injuries when he was stabbed multiple times. The man was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton for treatment.
Police say the incident started with a verbal dispute and escalated as O'Day allegedly dragged the victim out of his Audi and drove away in it.
O'Day then returned to explain his side of the story to police and he was arrested.
