Target Coming To Cape Cod

HYANNIS, Mass. (AP) — Expect to see more white and red bags on Cape Cod. The retail giant Target has announced plans on Tuesday to open a store in Hyannis' Cape Cod Mall in 2019.

The company has signed a lease with Simon Property Group for an 80,000-square-foot store. This will be the chain's 47th store in Massachusetts, and will be considered a small-format store.

The reduced sized stores aim to streamline shopping experiences with essentials stocked through focus groups on local consumers. One such store exists near Boston University on Commonwealth Avenue. Target's headquarters is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
