Target Removes Clown Masks From Stores, Website

BOSTON (CBS) – If you're looking for a clown mask for Halloween, you won't get it at Target.

You can blame the creepy clown scare that's been spreading across the nation.

"We've removed clown masks from our stores and Target.com," company spokeswoman Kristen Emmons said in an email to WBZ-TV Sunday.

Police in several states have been dealing with threats and pranks linked to sightings of people in creepy clown masks.

Dartmouth Police produced a public service announcement video last week discouraging anyone who's thinking about taking part in the craze.

The bizarre phenomenon has even forced Ronald McDonald to keep a low profile these days.
