Super Bowl Gamble Pays Off For Group Of Patriots Fans

BOSTON (CBS) - 'DeflateGate' has no effect on a group of friends packing for Arizona. Their belief in the Pats is almost as strong as their friendship.

"We went to summer camp, so I probably knew you [Allan Chester] when I was 12 or so," said David Yas.

The eight friends met at summer camp more than 30 years ago. Every year for the past ten years, they take a trip together.

"Kind of reliving some of our old glory days," said Allan Chester.

Back in June before football season even started, they decided to book a trip to Arizona when the Super Bowl was scheduled to play.

"$325 direct flight, JetBlue. Good deal. Good investment," said Steven Levitt.

They hoped the Patriots would make it to the big dance and their gamble paid off.

"It almost doesn't seem realistic yet, but it's getting there," said Levitt. "Just by being there, you got the ambiance of the Super Bowl and being with the Patriots family."

They do not have tickets to watch the game inside the stadium. But, they're not concerned. The group is staying with Levitt's son who goes to college in Arizona. Together they will watch the game from the comfy living room couches.

"It's the event of getting everyone together the dads, the sons, the friends, it's about being together watching it," said Chester.
