Colbert Announces #BestSchoolDay Campaign; Twitter Co-Founder Will Fund Boston Schools' Grant Requests
BOSTON (CBS) -- Late Show host Stephen Colbert made an announcement on CBS This Morning Thursday that comes as exciting news for Boston schools.
Colbert has teamed up with DonorsChoose.org, a site that uses crowdfunding to help public school students and teachers.
Fifty actors, athletes, and entrepreneurs pledged to fully fund the site's public school grant requests for several regions of the country.
Twitter co-founder Biz Stone and his wife Livia announced they will be flash-funding all of the DonorsChoose.org classroom projects in Greater Boston.
Stone made the announcement in a video on YouTube, where he also shared his best school day memory.
The requests on school wish lists range from field trips to iPads to new puppets.
Today alone, the #BestSchoolDay campaign has raised 14 million dollars.
