Steve Belichick Promoted To Patriots' Safeties Coach

BOSTON (CBS) -- Look out, NFL. Another Belichick is moving his way up the coaching ranks.

The Patriots on Friday announced that Steve Belichick had been promoted to safeties coach after spending four years as a coaching assistant on the coaching staff of his father, Bill Belichick.

The position was vacated by the team moving former safeties coach Brian Flores to linebackers coach, a position that was left vacant by Patrick Graham earlier this offseason.

Included in the announcement was Dante Scarnecchia reclaiming the offensive line coach job, Moses Cabrera going from assistant strength and conditioning coach to head strength and conditioning coach, Jerry Schuplinski going from coaching assistant to assistant QBs coach, and the hiring of James Hardy as an assistant strength and conditioning coach.
