Mom's Photo Of Springfield Teacher Babysitting Son Goes Viral

SPRINGFIELD (CBS) -- A mother's Facebook post thanking an "MVP" Springfield teacher is bringing smiles to thousands online.

Kimmy Lopez, 20, said that she was forced to bring her 10-month old son to class at Central High School in Springfield, where she was enrolled in a re-engagement program.

"I had no daycare for my son," Lopez wrote "I thought it would stop me from finishing school."

But Lopez says administrators, especially her teacher, Mr. Guy, were more than willing to welcome her and her baby to class.

"They set up a play pen in their office, brought toys and snacks for my baby, he even took my son to run errands with him," she said. "All so that I could come to school every day, study peacefully and focus on my books so that I graduate with my class."

Lopez said Mr. Guy is like a second parent.

"Some teachers go all out for their students, they will do just about anything to help you succeed!" she said.

Lopez's post was partly inspired by a professor in Israel. A picture of him holding a student's baby when she couldn't find a babysitter went viral in May.
