Escaped Monkey Returned To Springfield Zoo
SPRINGFIELD (CBS) – A monkey that escaped from its enclosure at a Springfield zoo was tranquilized and returned home after two days on the run.
Dizzy, a 12-pound Guenon monkey, escaped while an employee of the Forest Park Zoo was cleaning its enclosure.
With the monkey on the loose, residents had been asked to stay away from the area until Dizzy could be found.
On Thursday, zoo officials said Dizzy had been safely returned home and the zoo would open Friday at 10 a.m.
"Come welcome Dizzy home from his big adventure!" the zoo posted on its Facebook page.
