Southbridge Man Allegedly Kidnapped, Robbed Woman In North Carolina

SOUTHBRIDGE (CBS) – A child rape suspect, who police say cut off his GPS bracelet and fled the state, is now wanted in another assault in North Carolina. Gregory Lewis, 26, of Southbridge, has been on the run since September 15.

On September 25, police say he returned home, seriously assaulted a family member, stole a handgun and ammunition and left.

Two days before that attack in Southbridge, Lewis allegedly kidnapped, robbed and assaulted a woman in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Lewis is believed to be traveling in a blue Jeep Grand Cherokee registration 85GF63. Authorities say Lewis may have concealed or changed the plates on the vehicle.

Lewis is considered armed and dangerous and is believed to be in possession of a 9MM handgun, a baton, and handcuffs.
