First severe thunderstorms of the season possible in Massachusetts Wednesday
BOSTON - The WBZ Weather Team is continuing the NEXT Weather Alert through this evening for the potential of a few thunderstorms which could approach severe status.
The Storms Prediction Center has placed southern New England in a "marginal" risk for severe storms today...not nearly as concerning or impactful as what is expected in parts of Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee and other surrounding states.
What does the rest of the week look like?
The rest of this week will be rather grey and cool for the time of year. High temperatures will be mainly in the 50s Thursday and Friday. Close to the coastline on Friday, we could see some areas struggle to get out of the 40s!
Not expecting any widespread or heavy rainfall, but there is a chance of some scattered light showers or pockets of drizzle both days.
The news for the weekend does not get much better. We expect lots of clouds and a risk for showers at times, particularly on Sunday. Again, no heavy rainfall in the forecast, more so just a drab and dreary stretch.
What's the Mother's Day forecast?
Sorry Mom, wish I had better or brighter news for you! Clouds will stick around for the most part on Sunday with some scattered rain showers.
Naturally, things look much brighter and warmer to start next week.
