Serious Injuries Reported, Traffic Stopped, On Route 6 In Wellfleet

WELLFLEET (CBS) - The driver of a cement mixer that collided with a Jeep Cherokee and a Toyota SUV on Route 6 in Wellfleet and blocked traffic for several hours.

Police identified the cement mixer driver as 53-year-old Jeffrey Perry of Eastham. Perry was medflighted to Boston Medical Center with what police say were "significant injuries."

Traffic on the highway was shut down in both lanes cleaning up the concrete that spilled out of the truck.

Traffic is blocked in both directions by the crash and authorities with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation are asking drivers to take the detour from Gill Road to West Road.

Massachusetts State Police are assisting local police with the investigation.
