Serial Bank Robber From R.I. Pleads Guilty

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — A Rhode Island man who robbed banks in Connecticut and in Massachusetts while on probation for an earlier bank robbery conviction has pleaded guilty.

Federal prosecutors say 38-year-old Robert Chadronet, formerly of East Providence, used "force, violence and intimidation" in robbing banks last year in Branford and Westbrook, Connecticut, and Wareham, Massachusetts. The three robberies combined netted him a total of more than $4,000. He pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court in Hartford.

He was arrested in 2015 in connection with another bank robbery in Milford, Connecticut. State charges for that robbery are pending.

He faces up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced in December.
