Senators Acquire Ales Hemsky From Oilers

BOSTON (CBS) - Ales Hemsky is heading from Edmonton to Ottawa for a third- and a fifth-round draft pick. This is reportedly a done deal according to TSN's Bob McKenzie, with Edmonton retaining half of his remaining salary.

The talented right winger has only potted nine goals this season for the last-place Oilers, and he's racked up 17 assists in 55 games. The former first-round pick will be a free agent this summer, and appears to be a rental for the Senators.

The Senators are currently sitting sixth in the Atlantic Division, but they are looking to make a playoff push with this acquisition.  They trail Columbus for the final wild-card spot by four points with 20 games to play.
