Route 1 Mini Golf To Remain Open For One More Season

SAUGUS (CBS) – The bright orange dinosaur will live on for one more season of mini golf.

Route 1 Miniature Golf and Batting Cages, best known for its massive tyrannosaurus rex statue, announced last fall that the property had been sold to a developer.

As a result, the future of the mini golf course and its dinosaur were up in the air, to say the least.

But on Friday, the business announced that the sale of the property will now take place this fall. As a result, Route 1 Miniature Golf will stay open for one final season.

"We are thrilled to be able to help the community create one more season of memories," owner Diana Fay said. "We welcome back all of our valued customers, and hope to see some new faces too."

Opening day has not yet been established, but Fay anticipates it will be sometime in mid-April.

Route 1 Miniature Golf has been family-owned and operated since 1958.
