New Hampshire investigators identify man and woman found dead in Salem home
SALEM, N.H. – Investigators have identified the man and woman found dead inside a Salem, New Hampshire home.
Neighbors on Bodwell Road in Salem are completely shaken up after police said two people were found dead inside the home on Saturday afternoon.
"It's just a shock, we're still in disbelief," said neighbor Lauren Demers. "We can't believe that our neighbors are gone. It's heartbreaking."
The couple has been identified as 47-year-old Jennifer Barrett and 41-year-old Charles Molinari. Police said they received a 911 call from the house. Jeff Garcia, who lives right across the street, knows the couple.
"By 1:45, 1:50, police were going in with guns drawn," said Garcia. He said he was home when police arrived. "It's extremely sad, especially knowing that there is a daughter and son involved. He had a son. To see her pull up and the officers had to tell her what was going on inside, that was the saddest part."
His Ring camera footage showed Molinari leaving and returning to the home just after 1 p.m.
"Very nice couple, we'd talk neighborly. I usually had a huge Halloween decoration set up, so he would come over, I'd have a fire and we'd have some drinks and just hang out. Nothing out of the ordinary."
Neighbors said they've never seen any police activity at the home before. They describe the couple as nice but quiet and somewhat to themselves.
"They were extremely nice people. Really friendly, kind, they were quiet, we would see them when we were outside," said Demers.
Police remained on scene for most of the day on Saturday.
"They were in the house, investigating, it looked like. Lights flashing inside and looking for some kind of solution as to what happened," said Demers.
Police said this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. The incident remains under investigation.
