BOSTON (CBS) - NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell issued this statement just after noon Thursday, announcing the league will appeal Judge Richard Berman's decision to vacate Tom Brady's four-game suspension:

While the legal phase of this process continues, we look forward to focusing on football and the opening of the regular season.

The league later tweeted that they will not move to keep Brady off the field during the appeal, which mean he will start the season opener September 10 at Gillette Stadium.
