Rob Gronkowski Peppers James Corden With Footballs On 'The Late Late Show'
BOSTON (CBS) -- Late-night host James Corden has become one of the most-watched people in the world of YouTube, thanks to his Carpool Karaoke series that always draws tens of millions of viewers.
Unfortunately, when Rob Gronkowski made his appearance on "The Late Late Show" on Thursday, no singing was involved.
There was, however, a unique athletic competition, as Gronkowski faced off against actors Liev Schreiber and Luke Wilson in a game of target practice. The three men hurled footballs toward a spinning target, with a well-padded Corden strapped on the target.
It's a good thing they weren't throwing knives, because accuracy wasn't exactly sharp. Gronkowski made a few sidearms passed and even got one through the target, but the judges awarded the victory to Schreiber. Gronk seemed to think he got hosed.
You can be the judge for yourself.
Also on the show, Gronkowski and Wilson tried to convince Corden that he could be a football player, with Gronk going as far as saying that Corden even looks like James Develin.
"I'm not lying -- You look exactly like our fullback, face-wise, body-wise," Gronk told Corden.
Well ... maybe not.

Gronk also detailed the fights he and his brothers used to have while growing up in the Buffalo area.
"It was the best time growing up, but there were brawls every day. There were just full-on fist fights," Gronkowski said. "We had two rules in the house my parents created: no hitting in the face and no hitting in the gonads. So it was fair. So we took shots everywhere, so it's like when I get tackled now, they're like, 'Rob, why don't you feel it?' And I'm like, 'I've been getting hit my whole life, since 2 years old.'"
Rob also talked about his brother Glenn getting signed by the Buffalo Bills.
"We're from Buffalo, so it's cool to see one of us play for our hometown ... even though I really don't, they're one of our rivals," Gronkowski said. "It makes [the rivalry] that much better. Yes."
So, will Rob tell his teammates to talk it easy on the little bro? And do the rules about where hits are not allowed apply to the gridiron?
"Those are both penalties out there on the field, so it's already all set. But you can give him a little dig. I'll tell them, 'Give him a little dig or something on the pile, but nothing serious,'" Gronkowski said.
