Rob Gronkowski Now One Touchdown Away From Patriots History

BOSTON (CBS) --  Rob Gronkowski is inching closer to Patriots team history, and explained it in a way only Rob Gronkowski could on Sunday.

Gronk's 36-yard touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers in New England's 27-16 win was the 68th of his career (67 receiving scores, one rushing), tying him with Stanley Morgan for the team's all-time lead. That means there's a good chance the tight end takes sole possession of the team's TD record next weekend when he returns home to Buffalo for a showdown with the Bills.

Feeling history was close, Gronkowski was super amped following Sunday's win in Pittsburgh. So he had a little fun when asked about Sunday's touchdown and what it meant.

"One more, I have 69 touchdowns, if you know what I mean," he said with a giant Gronkowski grin. "Only you know what I mean, baby."

Did we really expect anything more from Gronk?

Gronkowski finished Sunday's win with four catches for 93 yards and the touchdown. The TD connection with Tom Brady was the 66th between the two, good for the second most by a quarterback and a tight end combination in NFL history. Brady and Gronkowski trail only Philip Rivers and Antonio Gates' 76 touchdown connections on the NFL leaderboard.

The Patriots tight end also moved up the all-time list in terms of receiving yards by a tight end, moving past Todd Heap (5,869) and Todd Christensen (5,872) into 14th place all-time with 5,930 receiving yards.

It's good to be Gronk, but then again, when isn't it?
