Ringling Bros. Hold Circus Tryouts In Boston
BOSTON (CBS) -- In the search for talented individuals, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus held tryouts at the TD Garden in Boston on Friday.
There were contortionists bending their bodies like pretzels along with acrobats, aerialists and even a hoop act performed by Alexis Hedrick of Boston. Hedrick spun around on the floor inside a huge wheel, and her arms and legs never touched the ground.
She says it's "like being inside a giant hula hoop, and then it moves like a coin can move. So there are spinning tricks and then there's spiraling tricks, where you're going along the edge and you have to make sure your fingers get out of the way."
Ringling Bros. Ringmaster Johnathan Lee Iverson says it's all about finding the next big circus legend.
"Our lifeblood is talent. We're always looking, we're always scouring the planet because there's always some unique person or troop or animals that we believe will captivate the public," he said.
The circus will be performing shows this weekend in Boston.
