Reward offered by family in search for missing Massachusetts man

Family offers $5,000 reward in finding missing Massachusetts man missing since Tuesday

PLYMOUTH - The family of a missing man from Plymouth is now offering a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to his safe return.

"We felt like it was time to do something"

"We felt like it was time to do something to try to drum up some sort of lead," said Riviello's daughter, Michelle Norris.

Rodney Riviello, 69, was last seen on June 18 near Beth Israel Plymouth Hospital on Sandwich Road after he was discharged. His family said he was discharged without his wallet or phone and they weren't notified.

"The whole thing's surreal," said Norris.

Riviello suffers from dementia-like symptoms after several mini-strokes. He's 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a collared blue-striped shirt, blue shorts and a New York Yankees hat. He lives in Manomet and has connections to Boxboro and Provincetown, as well as Clyde, New York and Brooklyn.

"Check sheds, check decks, check under decks," said Plymouth Police Capt. Jason Higgins.

Riviello's children said he was on his daily morning walk Tuesday when he fell and was found by two women who called ambulance. Beth Israel told his family he may have broken his nose but released him after only a few hours to "home."

"They did want to give him stitches, which he declined," said Norris. "His appearance could be off. And they did see the damage that's been done to his brain from the strokes, so they knew that he had a mental impairment. Our focus is bringing him home and down the road it will be making sure that this doesn't happen to other families."

The family is widening their search outside of Massachusetts, as Riviello is originally from New York.

"We have police in Clyde, New York, we have police in Brooklyn, New York," said Norris. "We have fliers going up all over the New York State Thruway."

Riviello moved to Plymouth about 18 months ago and his new neighbors aren't giving up on finding him.

"He is somebody's grandfather, he is somebody's dad, he is somebody's husband, he is somebody's brother and we need him home," said Norris.

Anyone who has seen Riviello or has any information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Plymouth Police.
