Responding Officer Testifies In Aaron Hernandez Murder Trial

FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) — The murder trial of former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez has resumed with testimony from an officer who responded to the crime scene.

Hernandez is accused in the 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd, who was dating his fiancee's sister.

The judge on Friday said she'd allow the jury to see video of Hernandez sitting in a lawyer's car outside the North Attleborough, Massachusetts, police station the day after the killing. Prosecutors say it shows Hernandez dismantling his phone, getting a new phone from the lawyer and using it to call a co-defendant. Prosecutors say the video shows a deliberate attempt to assist the co-defendant.

They haven't yet played the videotape.

The pace of the trial has been slower than expected. Snow days and scheduling issues have caused delays.
