Report: Rob Gronkowski Injured Pectoral Muscle In Offseason, 'Feeling Great' At Camp
BOSTON (CBS) -- Rob Gronkowski escaped the 2015 season without a major injury and looks good at Patriots training camp so far, but that does not mean his offseason came without other ailments.
ESPN's Dianna Russini tweeted Tuesday that sources close to Gronkowski told her the Patriots tight end injured his pectoral muscle during the offseason but is "finally feeling great" as he practices with the team to start training camp. Russini later tweeted that Gronk's injury "had him worried" but "as you can see from his play the last few days at camp ... he is ready to go."
The Boston Herald's Jeff Howe reported back in June that the Patriots were holding Gronk out of minicamp practice for precautionary reasons, but he may have been dealing with an undisclosed injury that was "extremely minor in nature, to the point where there'd be no issue with him practicing if this were the regular season."
The true nature of the pectoral injury is unclear at this point and it appears Gronk suffered no setbacks in the offseason, but it's an interesting piece of information to come out in the same week that Gronkowski's agent Drew Rosenhaus was in town to talk about his contract.
