Red Sox Switching Back To Red Lettering On Road Jerseys
BOSTON (CBS) -- When the Red Sox open up their 2014 season in Baltimore, they'll do so not only as the defending world champs, but also with a bit of a different look.
The blog UniWatch noted on Friday that the Red Sox will be going back to the red lettering on their road jerseys this year.

The change was noted by an eagle-eyed Twitter user who noticed the jerseys for sale online.
The Red Sox confirmed with WBZ-TV that the change will take place this season, noting that the Red Sox had a "desire to revert back to [their] traditional style of uniform. These are more consistent with the home unis."
The Red Sox wore the red-lettered road jerseys in the 1990s and 2000s as well as various other times throughout their history, but switched to blue letters beginning in the 2009 season. That was the same year when the team introduced alternate home and road jerseys for Friday night games, which are the red and navy jerseys, respectively, the team has worn on Friday games, along with the hanging Sox hat instead of the traditional "B" logo.
