Bruins Trade Ryan Donato To Wild For Charlie Coyle

BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Bruins have acquired forward Charlie Coyle from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Ryan Donato and a conditional fifth round pick.

"The Bruins are excited to add Charlie Coyle to our immediate lineup," said Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney Wednesday night.

Coyle, 26, a Weymouth native, played at Boston University and was a first round pick of the San Jose Sharks in 2010. He had 18 assists and 10 goals for the Wild this season.

"Charlie brings unique qualities to our team – he is an experienced, productive, two-position player with size, skill and speed," Sweeney said.

Donato, 22, has six goals and three assists in 34 appearances with Boston this season. He also has seven goals and five assists for 12 points in 18 AHL games with Providence.

The pick becomes a fourth-round selection if the Bruins advance to the second round of the playoffs.
