Report: Bruins' Seidenberg Took 'Light Contact' At Practice
BOSTON (CBS) - The Bruins announced on December 28 that defenseman Dennis Seidenberg will miss the rest of the season following an ACL/MCL injury to his right knee with a recovery time of six to eight months.
Seidenberg went under the knife on January 7, and now just 125 days later the veteran blueliner is back at practice taking light contact, this coming after weeks of skating.
It's a step in the right direction for Seidenberg.
The Bruins defense and goaltending looked great in the Detroit series but took a turn for the worst against Montreal. Through the first three games with the Canadiens the B's allowed a very un-Bruinslike 11 goals. They've shored that up nicely in the latter two contests, allowing just two goals in as many games.
Bruins president Cam Neely didn't rule out a Seidenberg return back in March on Felger & Massarotti, and the same can be said for general manager Peter Chiarelli on Toucher & Rich.
We'll have to wait and see if a return is in the near future. But at this point, it looks more like a matter of "when" not "if."
