Red Sox Wear Special 4th Of July Uniforms

BOSTON (CBS) – The Red Sox sported a particularly patriotic look as they took the field Saturday at Fenway Park against the Houston Astros.

In honor of the 4th of July, Red Sox players wore white jerseys that included red numbers and lettering with white stars.

The team's hats on Saturday are red with a flag logo printed behind a white "B."

Houston took the first game of this weekend's series on Friday night, winning 12-8 in extra innings.

On Saturday, Clay Buchholz took the hill for a start against Collin McHugh.

The Red Sox entered the day in last place, seven games behind the first place New York Yankees.

Boston is six games out in the wild card race.

After Friday night's game the team celebrated Independence Day with a fireworks display at Fenway Park.
