Red Sox-Indians Series Finale Postponed; David Price Set To Start Fenway Opener

BOSTON (CBS) -- Thursday night's game between the Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians has been postponed due to weather. No makeup date has yet been determined.

The start to the Red Sox season has been quite choppy. Opening Day was set for Monday, but that game was postponed due to cold weather and a threat of rain. The makeup game on Tuesday went off without a hitch, but Wednesday night's game was delayed roughly 10 minutes due to weather. Now, game three has been postponed.

As a result, manager John Farrell is simply sliding everyone in the starting rotation back one day, instead of skipping the start of Steven Wright. That means that No. 1 starter David Price is now in line to start Monday's home opener at Fenway Park.

The Red Sox defeated the Indians 6-2 on Tuesday but lost 7-6 on Wednesday. A weekend series in Toronto is on tap for Boston.

The team does not have another scheduled trip to Cleveland this year, so the teams will likely try to fit the makeup game in on a day when both teams are scheduled to have off days.
