David Ortiz Sits, Sandoval And Castillo Get First Starts Of 2016
BOSTON (CBS) – After losing his job to Travis Shaw in Spring Training, Pablo Sandoval receives his first start of the season on Saturday against Toronto.
David Ortiz was given the day off by John Farrell, allowing the manager to slide Hanley Ramirez into the designated hitter role for the day.
Travis Shaw moves from third to first base on Saturday and Sandoval gets the start at the hot corner.
Shaw will hit cleanup against Toronto with Sandoval moving into the sixth spot in the lineup.
Rusney Castillo gets his first start of the season, playing centerfield in place of Jackie Bradley Jr.
First pitch is scheduled for 1:07 p.m. in Toronto.
