Rare Whale Spotted In Cape Cod Bay
BOSTON (CBS) --- A Bowhead Whale is a rare sight for local waters.
It was spotted in Cape Cod Bay two years ago, and researchers confirm, the same whale is now back.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Doug Cope reports
Corey Accardo of the Center for Coastal Studies in Provincetown says the feeding is good right now.
"This time of year is when we get a large influx of zoo plankton in Cape Cod Bay and along with that, we get a lot of Right Whales coming to feed in this area," Accardo said.
The Bowhead is related to the Right Whale but it's unknown why it made its way from Arctic waters to Cape Cod Bay.
