Local Astronaut Heads To International Space Station
BOSTON (CBS) -- A Randolph man is beginning his journey in space on Sunday.
Scott Tingle was born in Attleboro, but considers Randolph to be his hometown.
An early Sunday morning launch will send Tingle, along with a Russian astronaut and a Japanese astronaut, to the International Space Station for the first time.

"As we get going-- the Space X should be docking before we get there--the holidays are coming up and I have some special gifts for my fellow crew members that will help us bring in the Christmas and the New Year," said Tingle.
Space X has already launched a rocket carrying supplies to the Space Station.
Tingle has been a NASA astronaut since 2009.
He earned a bachelor's degree from Southeastern Massachusetts University, which is now UMass Dartmouth.
