Quincy Driver Charged With OUI After Hitting 7 Parked Cars

QUINCY (CBS) – A man who police say crashed into seven parked cars in Quincy has been charged with drunk driving.

Police responded to Davis Street just after midnight Monday morning for a reported hit and run. Officers found residents standing outside and eight damaged cars in the street.

The driver was identified as 21-year-old Matthew Broadbent of Quincy.

Witnesses say he rammed into one vehicle after another. One vehicle was hit with such force that it landed on the hood of another car.

Police say after hitting several cars, witnesses in the area smashed in the window of his car, put the car in park and took the keys out of the ignition.

No injuries were reported.

Broadbent was arraigned Monday morning on several charges including operating under the influence and leaving the scene after property damage.
