Mass. Boy Unwraps PlayStation 4 On Christmas, Finds Wooden Fake Inside

SAUGUS (CBS) – Santa certainly didn't mean for this to happen.

A local family says their Christmas morning went awry when their 9-year-old son opened his new PlayStation 4, only to find a wooden replica inside with some graphic language and drawings written on it. The present was purchased from Target in Saugus.

"This has ruined his belief in Santa," Kristin Lundy wrote in a Facebook post that has been shared more than 7,000 times.

The family declined an interview with WBZ-TV, but said Target has since made things right. The store replaced the fake PS4 with a real one, and gave them a $100 gift card for the inconvenience.

"We apologized to the guest for this, and are thankful for our store team's quick response to make things right," Target said in a statement to WBZ.
