Practice Report: Patriots' Hightower, Colts' Luck Both Limited On Wednesday

BOSTON (CBS) -- The New England Patriots had two notable injuries during Sunday's win over the Cowboys, and while they reportedly lost Nate Solder for the season on Wednesday, they had some better news on the Dont'a Hightower front.

Hightower was limited at New England's first practice of the week, as they prepare for Sunday night's showdown with the Colts in Indianapolis.

Hightower suffered a rib injury late in the first quarter on Sunday, remaining  down on the field after tackling running back Joseph Randle. His return was initially deemed questionable, but following halftime the team announced that Hightower would not return. The linebacker has had a stellar start this season with 25 combined tackles and 2.5 sacks. He had four tackles and a sack of Dallas quarterback Brandon Weeden before leaving Sunday's game.

Solder was the only player missing from Wednesday's practice for New England, as he will reportedly undergo surgery on a torn biceps and is done for the season. Cornerback Tarrel Brown (foot) and defensive lineman Trey Flowers (knee/shoulder) were also limited.

For the Colts, quarterback Andrew Luck was among three players limited on Wednesday, along with linebackers Trent Cole (back) and Nate Irving (knee). Luck has missed the last two games with a shoulder injury.

Four players did not participate in Wednesday's practice for the Colts: linebackers Jerrell Freeman (groin) and Robert Mathis (rest), wide receiver Andre Johnson (rest) and running back Tyler Varga (concussion). Linebacker Bjoern Werner (hamstring) was a full participant.
