No Powerball winner as jackpot grows to $760 million

BOSTON - The Powerball jackpot grew to $760 million Thursday after there was no winner in Wednesday night's drawing.

The winning numbers were 4-11-38-51-68 and the Powerball was 5.

There were two $50,000 prizes in Massachusetts. The state lottery said the tickets were sold at Fast Freddie's on Dodge Street in Beverly and at Wellesley Variety on Forest Street in Wellesley.

The $760 million jackpot is the sixth largest in Powerball history, according to the lottery. The one-time, lump sum cash payment for the jackpot is now at $382.5 million. The next drawing will be on Saturday, December 30.

The last time somebody won Powerball was back on October 11, when a whopping $1.765 billion winning ticket was sold in southern California.

Powerball tickets are $2 each and can be bought up until 9:50 p.m. in Massachusetts. The drawings are held at 10:59 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.   

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
