Powerball jackpot grows to $1.73 billion after no winner drawn Monday night

BOSTON - The Powerball jackpot has grown to a whopping $1.73 billion after no one won the latest drawing.

The one-time, lump sum payment option is now $756.6 million. It's the second-largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history.

The winning numbers drawn Monday, October 9, 2023 were 16-34-46-55-67 with a PowerBall of 14. 

There were five $50,000 winners in Massachusetts, according to the state lottery. Those tickets were bought at Black Duck Market and Deli in Newburyport, Berkley Farms Liquors in Berkley, Save More Gas in Raynham, the 7-Eleven in Charlestown and North River Beverage in Marshfield.

The next drawing on Wednesday night will be for the biggest Powerball jackpot since the game reached a record $2.04 billion last November.

The chances of winning the jackpot are one in 292.2 million.
