Powerball jackpot rises to $685 million

BOSTON - There was no Powerball winner on Christmas so the jackpot has grown to $685 million for Wednesday night's drawing.

The winning numbers drawn Monday night were 5, 12, 20, 24, 29 and a Powerball of 4.

There were three $1 million winning tickets that matched five numbers. One was sold in New Hampshire, but the location has not been revealed yet.

The Massachusetts Lottery said a ticket sold at Joe's Market on Squire Rd. in Revere won $50,000.

The last time somebody won the Powerball jackpot was in October, when a huge $1.765 billion winning ticket was sold in southern California.

The next drawing is Wednesday at 10:59 p.m. The one-time, lump sum cash payment for the jackpot is now at $344.7 million.
