Police Seek Suspects In South Boston Sexual Assaults

BOSTON (CBS) -- Police are now looking for suspects in three separate sexual assaults in South Boston.

Two attacks occurred in the area of Boston and Mayhew streets in September, with the most recent occurring around 1:17 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the Boston police blog.

A woman told police she turned around and saw a man directly behind her who reached out and grabbed her buttocks while she was walking. The man ran away on Boston toward Columbia Road before turning onto a side street.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned Hispanic man in his late 20s or early 30s, standing 5-feet-10-inches tall, with a medium build. He was also seen wearing khaki cargo shorts, white tennis shoes, a brown sweater with a full-length zipper, and a gray hat with a small brim.

SEPTEMBER 5 INCIDENT

Around 3 a.m. on Sept. 5, another woman told police she was approached from behind and touched inappropriately by a Hispanic man and he ran away after she screamed.

He was described as being in his early 20s, standing between 5-foot-9-and-5-foot-10-inches tall, and wearing an aviator or varsity-style dark-colored jacket.

JULY 16 INCIDENT

A third woman claimed she was approached from behind and touched inappropriately by a Hispanic man, police say, on Farragut Road at about 1:37 a.m. on July 16. When she screamed, the man ran down Farragut toward East First Street.

The man was described as being in his early 20s, standing 5-foot-7-to-5-foot-9-inches tall, and wearing a dark-colored shirt and camouflage shorts.

Investigators say they have not been able to connect the assaults except for the general area where they took place.
