Police Searching For SUV Involved In Randolph Hit-And-Run
RANDOLPH (CBS) --- Police are asking the public's help to track down the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a teenager seriously injured.
It happened around 5:30 p.m. Saturday on Route 24 north near Exit 20.
State Police say an initial investigation indicates a 2007 BMW sedan went off the road after being struck by a smaller, dark-colored SUV. The SUV is believed to have been driven by a woman and a female passenger may have also been in the car. That SUV left the scene of the crash.
Witnesses told police it appeared as though a third vehicle pursued the SUV. The SUV is believed to have damage to the driver's side mirror and/or front end.
A 19 year-old female passenger in the BMW, identified as Brittany Rodriguez of Hyde Park, was ejected when the vehicle entered the median. She sustained life-threatening injuries, was initially transported to Milton Hospital, and was later transferred to Beth Israel Hospital where she remains in serious condition.
The driver of the BMW was identified as Steffanyjoy K. Lloyd, 19, of Brockton. Lloyd and a second passenger in the car she was driving were not injured.
